welcome

my new website is online. i planed this page as some small web-page in typo3 with informations about my current projects, a small news/blog section for some tricks round about my work and some default pages like "contact" and "links".

updates will only be made sporadically, because i work a lot and have also my own company which includes administration of a huge community that is attached to it. if you don't wanna miss recent changes, get rss-feed.

this website uses state-of-the-art web-technique. all animations are implemented with css. only the background is realized in canvas javascript, because all browsers had a performance problem when css had been used for everything.

normally i work a lot with jquery, because it has a lot of nice effects for example the possibility of using tabs. some browsers have always problems like for example the ie. to point one problem out: before the html5 implementions the phrasers have been different and some of the css attributes are not supported or implemented differently/wrong. on my private page i want to work with small effects without using js that is used for modern browsers. additionally rendering is much faster and the traffic is much lower. look into one of my first web log entries, why i still use js on two places.

about old browsers: i know maybe all ie's will have a problem though. but ie users are not my primary user group. i think the page could be run in ie9, but it  might miss some of the css animations.

about the texts

i have often the problem that i write very technical and think that my readers have a big knowledge base in the specific areas i write about. if you don't understand something feel free to contact me. i write only in small chars, because my mother tongue is German and its upper and lower case fanaticism simply annoys me. Additionally there are so many cases and "useless" things. if i write something in my free time i wanna enjoy it and not care about the spelling. Like before: if you got any trouble reading something, write me.

all content is in general under cc-license, take a look at the bottom. if something is under another license like bsd or gpl, a small note will be attached.

why do i not write all of this in german? my old page was in german, but i changed my mind about using that language for different reasons. i only use the search machine of my choice in english and if i program its often hard because one time you write a german variable name and another time you automatically write it in english. i want to use only english names because it is much better for working on projects like ispconfig.
